Gary Erickson

We are pleased to introduce Gary Erickson our Norwegian language instructor. 

 

He holds a B.A degree in Scandinavian Studies, with an emphasis on Norwegian language. He has studied three semesters as a resident, full-time student at the University of Oslo, Oslo, Norway.  This took place during the summers of 2000, 2002 and 2005. While at the University of Oslo, he completed Intensive Beginning Norwegian,
Intensive Intermediate Norwegian and Intensive Advanced Norwegian.

Fall Semester 2006 classes include:

Beginning Norwegian I

The purpose of this class is to introduce the participant to the language with a learning emphasis of heavy oral repetition. This will involve speaking, reading, listening, and pronouncing common patterns of speech in expressions and topics of simple daily conversation. No previous language experience is necessary.  This class is 1pm on Fridays.

Beginning Norwegian II

The purpose of this class is to introduce the participant to the language with an emphasis on basic Norwegian grammar and building vocabulary. Skills will include speaking, reading, listening and writing. New participants should have some history and experience with the language and the grammar. The text book used is, "Norsk, Nordmenn og Norge," by Stokker and Haddal.
